Calosol 4H Recovery Ointment

For many years, Calosol has been recognized as a leading treatment for Alopecia Areata. Patches in the facial hair region are a sub-divison of "Areata" and more of a problem to those with darker hair as they are more obvious.

In very simple terms the immune system becomes confused and attacks the hair follicles in given regions of the face believing them to be "invaders". Thereby making it traditionally so difficult to treat.

Fortunately we have discovered that certain natural plant extracts help correct this auto-immune attack, so that the hair can then recover on its own.

The beard region is less sensitive to treatment than the scalp, so Calosol Recovery Ointment has been made stronger than the regular Calosol range to bring about faster results.

The first signs of recovery are that hairs without pigmentation begin to grow in the bald patches. Within a few months this hair usually regains its colour and strength. (This can be seen in these pictures)

You should start off with a small amount of product in the affected region and then gradually increase to the desired level.

One night time application is usually all that is required, however additional morning / lunchtime applications will bring faster results.

An important point to note is that you must continue the daily applications until 100% of the facial hair has recovered. At that point you may stop using the product. Therefore each tube should last on average 3-6 months depending on the extent of the areas being covered.

Frequently asked questions:

1) Can it spread?
Yes, it is common to see further patches develop. However it is also common to see just a single patch develop and then remain confined until treated. You may also find that it takes a while to bring under control even while you are using Calosol Recovery Ointment, hence the sooner you start the daily applications the better.

2) If I have had a patch all my life, can that be treated?
If it is alopecia then yes it can. If you simply are genetically programmed not to have hair in certain places on your face, Calosol Ointment will not override your genetics.

3) Can I stop using Calosol Ointment once my facial hair is all back?
Yes. However do not stop the applications until 100% regrowth is seen and has "held" for 30 days.

4) Once my beard has fully regrown can the problem start up again at a future point?
A few clients have reported that it can - usually following a stressful period. However they have all reported that they quickly started using the ointment again and the problem came under control much faster the second time around.
