Do alopecia treatments actually work?

One of the most troublesome forms of hair loss is alopecia areata. Often a small patch the size of a dime appears on the scalp and can go in one of three directions:

It can: stabilise / reverse / or spread rampantly.

There isn't a specialist anywhere in the world who can predict exactly which direction your alopecia will take. That is where you may find yourself in a double bind: If your stress levels are low, such a patch may clear up all on its own without treatment. On the other hand it could spread across the entire scalp / body and therefore it isn't easy relaxing and hoping that it clears up all on it's own.

If you see websites with before and after pictures of people than have reversed alopecia areata,  you will not know 100% for certain if it was the product or good fortune that got them their hair back - yet it's hard not to worry when you awake each morning to a pillow covered in hair, so logically you will want to be pro-active:

Enter another catch 22: there are many alopecia support forums on the web, yet they usually fall into one of three categories:

1) They are run by people that have lost all their hair and are sceptical that anything can be done to grow it back. Hard to stay positive in a generally negative forum!

2) They charge you just for joining - why when teh whole point of forums was free advise.

3) They earn their keep from advertising.

There is a technical point that most people are not aware of: The greater the percentage of scalp hair lost, the lower the percentage chance of it simple growing back on its own with no treatment.  For example if you have had no hair for ten years it is very unlikely one day to simply start up growing again all on its own. We therefore thought that it would be useful to show a wide selection of photographs of all extents of loss: Our logic was that if we keep reversing very difficult patterns that have failed to respond to other treatments, then logically our product must be doing something that could not simply be put down to spontaneous remission.

People doubt the pictures!!  If you ask a graphic artist to fake hair regrowth he will say sure that is easy - however it is also very easier to spot a doctored picture, you simply enlarge the image and it becomes pretty clear what is real and what is not.

We then thought it useful to build a totally proactive forum where we follow the progress of those that are actually regrowing their hair on a real time basis. We even sharply discounted the product cost to say thank you to the brave souls that would bare and share their heads to the world.

Now the biggest problem when dealing on the web is that you can get ripped off easily, so we thought a money back guarantee would solve that problem.

We had wrongly assumed that once you have all of the above in place  ( A good "happy users" gallery, open cases to follow on a real-time basis, a money back guarantee - next day delivery) the website would grind to a halt: Strangely alopecia seems to be a case of crying wolf too many time:

Now an answer exists no one really believes it !!!
